Frequently Asked QuestionsThe Scrappage Deal:Current Criteria for Qualification: The vehicle you trade in: 1/ Must be a car or small van not exceeding 3.5 tonnes 2/ Must be UK first registered on or before 29th Feb 2000 or 28th Feb 2002 for vans. 3/ Must be registered with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) or Driver and Vehicle Agency in Northern Ireland (DVA) in your name 4/ Must have been registered to you continuously for 12 calendar months before the order date of the new vehicle 5/ Must have a UK address on the registration certificate (V5C) 6/ Must have a current MOT test certificate before the date of order for the new vehicle (or within 14 days of expiry at the time of order) 7/ Must have a current tax disc before the date of order for the new vehicle (or within 14 days of expiry at the time of order) 8/ Must be insured when the order for the new vehicle is placed The new vehicle you want to buy must be: 1/ a car or small van not exceeding 3.5 tonnes 2/ first registered in the UK on or after the 18 May 2009 3/ declared new at first registration in the UK with no former keepers 4/ a UK specification vehicle 5/ registered to the same registered keeper as the registered keeper of the eligible vehicle to be scrapped The above information is extracted from the government web site at www.berr.gov.uk The supplying dealership will organise the scrapping of your car through CarTakeBack - who will collect the car 2-3 days before the new car is delivered to allow time for the Certificate of Destruction to be issued. You will need to supply the dealership with a copy of your V5 at the time of order and you must keep another 2 copies of the V5, a copy of your MOT, copy of insurance certificate and a copy of the road tax disc before allowing the car to be scrapped. Yes, if you've had a letter from Citroen offering free bonus loyalty payment then we can accept it against any new car. Are your prices and descriptions accurate? We hope so and do our best to only offer up to date and accurate information - BUT like every other website, we are vulnerable to human error so please note that for legal purposes we have to say that all info and prices on the website are offered as a guide only. We will confirm prices to you before you place your deposit and you should always double check the Citroen website for any technical info on the car. (Please let us know if you do spot any mistakes on ours) Why so cheap? Various reasons - no showroom overheads, extremely low profit margins - or even sold at no profit sometimes to help reach sales targets, etc. Where's the hidden charges that you always get with car websites? NOT WITH US! We dislike those type of websites because they make it very difficult for the customer to compare deals fairly! Our prices are always 'on the road' and the only thing to add is any additional options such as metallic paint, etc. There MAY be a small delivery charge to add depending on your location. Because of the way we work we know that we should be the best price without any drawbacks or hidden catches, so if you do see a lower price elsewhere do ask lots of questions beforehand! (Our suppliers are all very reliable too!) There must be some catch though? All the cars on the website are supplied from main Citroen dealers and therefore come with full warranty etc., and are registered to you as the first owner unless it's a short term pre-reg deal. Can I order extras? Yes, any of the usual options can be added at the normal retail price or sometimes a small discount - if they are factory fitted options then it can delay delivery time by several weeks of course. Different paint finishes? There's usually a choice of solid, metallic or pearlescent paint finishes. Solid is usually free whilst others cost extra. Solid paint is just a solid colour - a little bit more prone to surface scratching although easier to repair. Metallic paint has metallic flecks which give it the extra shine and harder wearing capability. Pearlescent is pretty much the same as metallic although the pearl shaped metal flakes sometimes allow the colour to give a more richer hue under various lighting conditions. Metallic or pearlescent colours tend to attract slightly better resale values. DiamondBrite protection helps protect the paintwork and comes with a 6 year guarantee. DiamondBrite Sometimes known in other dealerships as Supaguard etc. Basically an interior chemical treatment to prevent staining of the upholstery and an exterior hard waxing to eliminate the need for waxing for a long time. It comes with a 6 year guarantee. Our treatment is exactly the same treatment that some dealers charge £300 or more for. You can do a similar thing yourself with off the shelf products to save money, but it does take some considerable time and elbow grease - so our price is pretty reasonable! You can get your car serviced or repaired under warranty at your local Citroen dealer regardless of where you purchase the car from as it is a UK supplied car with full Citroen 3 year warranty. Any hidden costs? Absolutely none! The only possible extra is if you want to add any additional options such as metallic paint etc., or if you are at some distance from the supplying dealership we use for that particular car and they may need to add a small delivery charge to cover costs. Am I the first registered keeper? Yes in all cases unless it's a clearly marked pre-registered deal - if so we will always make you aware of that long before you order (unlike some companies!) How is the car delivered? As most of our cars come direct to you from Citroen dealers they do tend to be driven delivery - they are however very carefully driven by the dealer's own staff usually and we've never ever had any customer complaints on that. Trailer delivery can also usually be provided at an extra cost if you prefer, or you can usually have the option to collect it yourself too. What about payment? As you deal direct with the individual dealer or supplier the actual payment terms vary, but usually all the deals start with a credit card deposit and the balance is also paid direct to the same supplier usually by bank transfer or debit card. Paying the initial deposit by credit card then gives you full protection under Credit Consumer Act for your complete peace of mind. Finance? We can offer all types of finance BUT you do need to sign the finance paperwork on the dealers premises (due to new stricter finance regulations produced in response to identity fraud problems). However this can be done on the day the new car is ready to collect - so just the one trip. Worried about buying over the internet? There are a number of protections for you: 1/ The car is UK supplied with full UK spec and warranty (valid at any UK Citroen dealership) 2/ Paying the initial deposit by credit card (not other means - although debit card also has some less clear protection under the chargeback scheme) does give you protection for the FULL amount of the deal regardless how the balance is paid. This is because of a law under Section 75 of the Credit Consumer Act which basically enforces the credit card company to reimburse the full amount should things go pear shaped, even if you've only paid a small amount on your card. (Limitations apply - read more here) 3/ You are also protected under the Sale Of Goods Act of course and also the newer, internet selling driven, Distant Selling Directive, which gives you the right to cancel or even return the car within 7 days (the supplier has the right to charge for any damage or reasonable supply / collection costs). This only applies when you have not ordered face to face so is an advantage over normal purchasing methods. 4/ Finally, we only use suppliers that we've come to know and trust ourselves over the years so by using us and also taking advantage of the protections above, you can sleep easy at nights!
